When continuous calibration is enabled:
The handheld device continuously adjusts the compass calibration during normal use. If the device is brought close to metal or magnetic objects for a longer period of time, the calibration may shift. After returning the device to its original environment, the compass may temporarily display an incorrect direction and requires several movements or rotations of the device to realign properly. When continuous calibration is disabled:
The device calculates the compass calibration only when the “Calibrate Compass” button is pressed and then keeps this calibration fixed. Temporary proximity to metal or magnetic objects will affect the compass only while the device is near these materials. Once moved away, the compass immediately returns to the previously calibrated and correct direction without any need for further movement.
